The project aims to support the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) in the Polio outbreak response in security-compromised inaccessible and partially accessible settlements, with GIS tracking using GTS, to track the vaccination teams during Polio campaign implementation;

  • Update and manage the Master List of Settlements (MLoS) across all identified priority Local Government Areas (LGAs) across the 8 States

  • Develop micro-plan templates and ward-level maps for each round of a campaign across all priority LGAs in the states

  • Train the LGAs teams on the use of maps and tracker handling

  • Track (using GTS and ODK) all special interventions teams during the implementation

  • Carry out Geospatial Post implementation coverage analysis and provide feedback at the State and LGA levels

  • Deployment of technical teams at state and LGA levels

eHA's Role

  • Provision of equipment for GIS tracking (android phones, laptops, charging boxes, generators, etc) and human resources to support the tracking of campaign implementation activities during the Polio Special Intervention campaigns in the 7 priority states

  • Building technical capacity of the LGA teams

  • Upload and transmission of tracking data to the GTS dashboard for data analysis and visitation coverage reporting

  • Provision of daily tracking coverage data to key government and implementing partner stakeholders during review meetings at both the state and local government levels.

  • Conduct data collection exercises for settlements without geo coordinates to boost the Polio geo database (GDB)

who benefits

  • National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA)

  • National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC)

  • State governments, communities and children in the security-compromised LGAs in the 7 focus states

Impact

  • 7 states supported with GIS tracking

  • 3000+ settlements in 66 LGAs tracked using GTS

  • 600+ geo coordinates collected across 7 states to improve the Polio GDB

  • 50+ data collectors trained on geo coordinates data collection using KoboCollect
